Material source:
Dome construction project, ordinary residential
Material features:
The chairs were made from safety rails, straight pipes, A-shaped tubes, and recycled formwork, and coated with natural German wood varnish.
The seat and the back of the chair are made of discarded formwork that was recut, representing the interdependence between the formwork and the scaffolding during the construction process.
The skeleton of the chair is made of A-shaped tubes, which are unique to the dome project. Its special structure was retained, and it was cut from the bottom to present a comfortable angle that allows sitters to recline naturally. The skeleton was then sanded for safety and assembled to show the strong and distinctive elements of the construction site.
Discarded A-shaped scaffolding from the dome project.
The scaffolding still retains its original, unique structure.
