Every year, 20 million tons of construction waste is produced in Taiwan. Can it make its way back into the world?
Farglory Land Development is determined to "develop" this tricky treasure trove, and look at waste that was meant to be discarded from a different perspective.
Inheriting the spirit of FG Next, which was to pursue sustainable and low-carbon construction with a focus on people's needs,
「The company goes deep into construction sites
to collect reusable construction waste.」
Through design and transformation, the waste has been formed into objects needed for the Farglory Land Development corporate headquarters.
The word "develop" will be reimbued with its original meaning of creating unlimited possibilities in a modern, resource-stressed world.
Hidden beneath the hardness of slabs, rebars, and nail holes are hints to a future of possibilities
Construction Waste Upcycling Project 1.0
RawWaste AsItIs
With the concept of "sustainability" as the starting point, the project aims to recycle existing construction waste, retain the characteristics of the materials, and use innovative methods such as re-cutting and assembling to produce recycled furniture that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
At the same time, in response to the concept of "sharing" the diverse uses of recycled furniture is showcased through the creation of spaces with different functions, such as open bar areas and shared spaces.
Construction Waste Upcycling Project 2.0
RefinementWaste Renaissanceof Sustainability
This is an upgraded and refined version of the project based on the recycled furniture in the 1.0 version of the project.
The source of building materials not only includes waste from construction sites, but also waste materials from the renovation of Farglory headquarters. They are mixed together for the development of more recyclable waste materials, making it a bold attempt at the fusion of different materials and the development of brand-new building materials.
With the development of brand-new, revolutionary materials, the source of building materials includes not only waste from construction sites but also general household waste, allowing for the development of more recyclable waste materials.
Materials such as waste glass, plastics, and even coffee cup lids are transformed into brand-new materials using special techniques, and ground-breaking recycling technology has been developed for turning stone into building materials.
To achieve true recycling, Farglory Land adheres to the spirit of sustainability and sharing.
In 2018, Farglory launched its Construction Waste Upcycling Project to give a second life to waste materials, creating unlimited possibilities in Farglory's buildings.
Not only have we transformed the waste building materials from our sites, but we have also bid farewell to the old idea that recycled items are impractical. With our partners, we have created products that are both aesthetically-pleasing and practical.
